tentacular:
So it’s war. We knew it would be.
Obviously, you don’t ask the Tories how they can do this. They, streetfighters of long-standing, the current vogue for simpering head-boy bonhomie notwithstanding, are clear about their aims, interests and concomitant attacks.
Nor is this message…

Hank 3
Listening to far too much Hank 3 today. He makes me smile and bounce.

Kevin A. González, from "Cultural Strumpet"
Via airwalker:
Years later, all the English girls you loved are calling & e-mailing because they’re going out of town with their new boyfriends & need you to feed their cats. Remember me? said the literary theorist who called orgasms little deaths, as if you could forget the way she yelled You’re killing me! You’re killing me! & campus police banging on the door & questioning you...

Looking stupid
The NYT article I linked to has been taken down, but and if you click through, you don’t get the taken-down error message, so’s it looks like I didn’t use the permalink, but I did (use the permalink), so I look a bit like a special, but I’m not (a special).
Shame, it was a really nice article.

Yeah, but she's not very well ...
Dad: Look at this lovely picture of you and your siblings being all childhoodedly excited and happy.
Me: Action packed - I look awesome and not at all the constantly morose and slumped child I often, in my adult life, construct my past self to have been. Where is that? Is that the first house?
Mum: Yes it is, I remember that day well - you fucked up good and proper.

Listing to the left
She: So we were talking and weirdly it seemed like breastfeeding from the left breast was the image we always had, when we thought of breastfeeding.
Me: But neither of you have given birth ...
She: No, but when we thought about it, hypothetically, our future kids.
Me: Okay.
She: So then the conversation devolved.
Me: Into?
She: Well, someone who's left handed is a southpaw
Me: Yes.
She: So, what would the equivalent be for tits? What's the word for someone who's left-breasted?
Me: ...
Me: Portbap?

Proper real tears of tooth grinding frustration...
Pixies tickets for October Brixton gigs went on sale today. They may have, from reports on twitter at least, already sold out. Even if they hadn’t sold out I couldn’t afford them on my current available funds. They are, and have always been, my favourite band. That band that meant something to you when you were 18 in your room listening to Doolittle over and over again. The band that...

Hibernations is for cold.
But today I blog not at all. Big beastlike, hairy fellow that I am, I feel like sleeping through the season. My wiring’s all wrong though. The wrong season has triggered my sleep recepticles and all I’ve been doing when not sitting at my desk at work is curling up in a big ball and restlessly snoozing.
Still it’s only for a few days - then we’ll be back to the grim...
